Hangar 18 is proud to have been a part of the 2014 Vancouver Civic Election by partnering with the City of Vancouver to design and create an engaging and innovative election-planning tool. Citizens learned about candidates, voting dates, locations and other key election info in a simple, user-friendly interface. The primary objective was to increase voter turnout to 40% by equipping citizens with enough information to make an informed decision and voting plan. The tool was accessible via tablet, laptop, mobile, or computer. The objective was met, and then some. Turnout was announced as 43.4% in 2014, up from 35% in 2011. H18 was responsible for the front end user experience and the overall look and design.
