Here’s how we tell it: “In July 1947 a flying saucer crashed near Roswell, New Mexico. It is said the wreckage and the occupants were taken to a place called Hangar 18.” So therein lies the arcane name and the glow-in-the-dark frisbee in a pizza box that we send to prospective clients. Even though we still receive the odd enquiry from sci fi fans, it’s our story and we’re sticking to it.
Hangar 18 Creative Group was formed in 1996 by two graphic designers and a copywriter. Since then, our Vancouver-based firm has grown to include web developers, graphic designers, copywriters, production artists, account/project managers and marketing strategists. Indeed, we’re big enough to handle complex projects and offer expertise across various disciplines. At the same time, we’re small enough that our senior people can play a direct role in finding creative but cost-effective solutions for our clients. Applied Arts Magazine once described Hangar 18 as a “studio of paranormal powers that delivers concept-driven, elegantly simple work.” While it’s nice of them to say so, and it’s true that we’ve collected more than our share of creative awards over the years, our real strength lies in our ability to tackle our clients’ communication and marketing problems creatively, collaboratively and quickly.
